PIANO TUNING:  

Every piano should be tuned every 6 months with the change of the seasons.  In the summer humidity levels rise which makes the wooden components of a piano expand and in the winter when the heat comes on, the humidity drastically reduces which makes the soundboard and pinblock of a piano contract.  These seasonal changes are what cause pianos to go out of tune which is why it is important to have your piano serviced every 6 months. 

 

PIANO REPAIR & MAINTENANCE:

The internal workings of the piano is called the action, which includes the mechanical moving parts that ultimately move the hammers to strike the strings.  The action of piano needs to be checked periodically to make sure the regulation is correct so all keys play evenly and freely.  Keeping up on a piano action's regulation will provide the pianist with continued quality of "touch" when playing.  Every now and then, parts get sluggish or break and further repair and maintenance is needed, all of which falls under my expertise.
